Single and multi-family home fires account for 90% of disaster responses for the American Red Cross. Compassionate and committed Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers help those families affected. Respond by phone to families affected by home fires, flooding or other local disasters to provide resources, comfort and hope. Be the beacon of hope to families who are likely having the worst day of their lives. What’s Needed 18 years or older with a valid United States driver’s license Training provided both online courses and shadow virtually with experienced volunteers Computer with internet and a smart phone Available for a minimum of one on-call, 4-hour shift/month Volunteers applying for in-person position assignments require vaccination verification.
