Help The Salvation Army Thrift Store transition from its summer inventory to the fall season! Volunteers will assist with tasks such as changing seasonal displays, organizing merchandise, stocking shelves, and preparing the store for fall shoppers. This is a great opportunity to support the store's mission while helping create a welcoming shopping experience for the community. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.

Assist with our pantry. Run register, Bag groceries. 

Stocking the food pantry shelves. Filling the Hope and Healing bags.

Assist with beautification with our outside property.

Inside painting and touch up.

Wash and detail the agency vehicles.

Come help weed, water, and harvest our community garden as we prepare for fall plantings. 

We will supply gardening gloves and tools, but feel free to bring your own. Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. Bottled water will be provided. 

Volunteers will create learning tools such as flash cards, games, activity notebooks, etc. for the tutors to use during the Middle School Tutoring Program. 

Volunteers will assist with general camp cleanup and improvement projects, with the primary task being the construction of a split rail fence. No prior experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of cleaning and organizing tasks, including sanitizing desks, doors, and walls; organizing games and toys; mopping floors; removing old artwork; washing plastic toys; scrubbing chairs and bookshelves; and cleaning out the storage shed to help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment. shed.

Volunteers will help wipe down walls and sanitize toys, creating a cleaner, healthier, and more welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.

Join UCP Heartland at the Gibbs Center for Independence in Jefferson City and help support our recycling efforts during Day of Caring! We are seeking two volunteers for a 2-hour shift between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on September 18. Volunteers will assist with transporting cardboard to the recycling center to help keep our center clean and environmentally responsible.

This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community. No special skills are required, just a willingness to lend a hand.

We're looking for 2 volunteers on September 18 to help clear plants, pull weeds, and prepare the beds for the colder months. This outdoor opportunity may last up to 3 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and is a great way to make a lasting impact while enjoying some fresh air.

Help UCP Heartland's Gibbs Center for Independence get ready for our carnival by creating fun, colorful signs alongside the people we serve! We're looking for 2 volunteers on September 18 to assist clients with decorating signs for the event. This creative opportunity may last up to 3 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and is a great way to build connections, encourage creativity, and have fun together.  All supplies will be provided.

Help UCP Heartland's Gibbs Center for Independence keep our kitchen organized and welcoming! We're looking for 4 volunteers on September 18 to assist with cleaning, organizing kitchen closets, and tidying the refrigerators. No deep cleaning or defrosting. This hands-on opportunity may last up to 3 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and will help create a safe, efficient space for the people we serve.

We are looking for volunteers to help install hanging clothes racks in our scrub room, and hanging clothing grids.   We have the sheet metal screws and anchors, you just need to bring a drill. 

Help Rape & Abuse Crisis Service (RACS) improve the outdoor playground area used by children and families receiving services. Volunteers will assist with outdoor beautification tasks such as pulling weeds, removing sticks and branches, trimming overgrown areas, and general cleanup to help create a safe and welcoming outdoor space.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own outdoor tools if available. RACS does not currently have equipment available for this project. Suggested tools include a mower, trimmers/weed eater, rakes, and other basic yard maintenance tools.

Help Rape & Abuse Crisis Service (RACS) create a welcoming and comfortable environment for survivors and their families by assisting with interior painting projects at our shelter. Volunteers will help refresh designated areas, including entryways, guest hallways, the laundry room, and resource room. RACS will provide paint and painting supplies. Volunteers who have access to additional supplies, such as ladders, painter’s tape, or other painting tools, are encouraged to bring them if available.

This project helps maintain a safe and supportive space for those receiving services at RACS.

Volunteers will help wash the building's exterior windows using supplies and equipment provided on-site, helping keep the facility clean, welcoming, and well-maintained for everyone who visits.

Spend time baking delicious cookies for children and help bring a little extra joy through a homemade treat made with care! 

We need 6-8 volunteers to do general outdoor clean up at 3 of our properties. If you have gloves that would be great. We will be weeding, trimming bushes, and power washing.

Pulling weeds, blowing away leaves and debris.

Volunteer to work alongside our employees doing any jobs that are in-house that day.  Often those jobs consist of decollating, shrink wrapping and other various jobs involving hand work.  Please wear closed-toe shoes to work on the warehouse floor and comfortable clothing.  Come ready to enjoy working and visiting with our employees and see what they do on a daily basis.
