“Sometimes when you are in a dark place, you think you have been buried, but actually you have been planted.” (Christine Caine)
Do you have a green thumb and a passion for service?! Then volunteering to help the RACS Garden Therapy Program may be a good fit for you! This volunteer opportunity will pair you with the Garden Therapy RACS counselor to help with the green house and small garden. This would be a great opportunity for a community group or several individuals who are willing to work together and grow this program to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for our emergency shelter and a place for survivors to heal and GROW.
Examples of tasks involved with this opportunity
- Assist with planting, weeding and harvest
- Watering the garden on weekends or during staff vacation days as needed
- Helping RACS to identify garden program needs or issues
- Helping RACS provide a beautiful location for healing and hope
- Help RACS secure items and donations to help the garden program flourish
If you have not already done so, please complete this Volunteer Application and download the RACS Volunteer Handbook prior to registering to help with the RACS Garden. Thank you!
