Hosted by The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, Hope for Heroes 5K benefits the VIP Veteran Pack Program. The program provides additional nutrition to food-insecure veterans; Veteran Packs include ready-to-eat entrees, soup, and fruit and vegetables in easy-to-open cans, as well as toiletries such as razors, body wash and deodorant. The run/walk will be held at 7:30 a.m. on June 25 at Missouri Gold Star Memorial in Jefferson City.
Volunteer tasks will include:
- During Race (7:30-9 a.m.): directing traffic at cross walks, passing out water, cheering on participants
- Post-Race (9-10:30): clean up and pack up
Volunteer Requirements:
- Ages 12 and older
- Able to follow all safety instructions
